                                                My Mother.

I want to tell you about one of the most influential person in my life. This is my mother. Her name is Galina. She is not only my mother; she is also my best friend. I spend a lot of time with her. She is very educated and knows many interesting things. She lives for us, her children and grandchildren.

My mother was born on the third of March, 1951 in a small town in Kazakhstan. The name of the town is Temirtau. This town is very dear and important for my mother and our family because my grandfather headed the construction of this town for thirty years.

My mother’s childhood was happy, but not so easy because she was born after the  World War II (1941-1945). She was the youngest child in her family. She has a brother and a sister. Her mother was an educated woman, but she did not work because she had to take care of her large family. My mother lived in a private house. Her family had a small garden and domestic animals. When my mother was seven years old, she went to school. Also she attended a music school. She can play piano. My mother was a weak child and often was sick. She decided to go to sports and try to be healthy. After finishing school, my mother entered the University and after five years she became an engineer. She played volleyball in the University team and won many sport competitions. When my mother was twenty-two years old she got married. My parents loved each other very much. In 1975 my older brother was born. My parents named him Gennadiy in honor of our beloved great-grandfather. When my brother was nine years old I was born. Our family was very friendly and we loved each other, but unfortunately after twenty years of marriage my parents divorced. At that time I was ten years old.

My mother liked to travel and she visited many interesting places. My mother is more like a friend to me. I can talk to her about everything without feeling embarrassed. She even knows all about how many friends I have.

My mother is a very good example for me. The person who teaches me the most is my mother. She is very responsible and honest. She always teaches me to tell the truth. She is also a very good housewife. Our house is always clean and food is always ready. My mother is very good cook. She teaches me how to cook and be a good wife for my future husband. My mother likes to read and gives me the same habits. We like to discuss books and articles that we read. As a greedy reader, she gave me the example I imitate to this day. Then, I could not understand how she could stand reading so much nonfiction; I preferred novels. Now I see that her reading provided the necessary tonic to life.

My mother has been with me many different moments in my life. I remember one important day. It was September 11, 2003. I had an interview with American Counselor in Moscow. I worried very much because the counselor decided my future life. I wanted then my mother was with me, but rule prohibit it. She waited me outside the building. When I came out and looked in mother’s eyes, I could see anxiety and tears. We waited result until evening. The man came out and said –“Congratulations you can move to the United States.” It was the best moment in our life because now we can be all together.

My mother is very kind. She takes care of our family. She loves life. Now when we are all together in this country, she wants us to be happy. I love my mother very much and she is the best person in my life. So, while I have been profoundly shared by many teachers, the one who taught me how to learn is the one I still call Mom.
